Metaverse Fashion Week
Tommy Hilfiger - Decentraland
March 2023

A collaborative project with Tommy Hilfiger for their Metaverse Fashion Week initiative which involved designing a custom world in Decentraland, featuring digital wearables, in-game activities, and AR filters. Decentraland is a 3D virtual world platform. Users may buy virtual plots of land in the platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Designers can create and sell clothes and accessories for the avatars to be used in the virtual world.

As part of Tommy Hilfiger’s multi-metaverse hub, this project explores themes of digital identity, virtual worlds, and technologies influence on fashion.

The virtual space, adorned with top to wall patterns, acted as an open canvas to display these collaborative and interactive digital wearables. These wearables were commissioned and designed to fit into Tommy Hilfiger’s aesthetic with a through-line to my prior hand-painted clothing and apparel. To collect these pieces, players completed in-game activities, interacting and exploring the digital space. More than a virtual store, this project played on the ever evolving Web3 landscape, where digital ownership and avatar expression challenge traditional notions of materiality.
