Lollygagging released as part of Instagram’s initial rollout of “Digital Collectibles”, which enabled creators to present non-fungible token based posts directly within user profiles. The project was minted as an ERC-1155 token on the Polygon blockchain in an edition of 25. Presented inside a platform not designed for digital ownership, the work operates within an existing social interface rather than a dedicated marketplace.

The work embraces a relaxed, drifting mood: a visual reflection on downtime and scattered attention. Created using Gravity Sketch in the Oculus VR headset—a Meta product—and Blender, it explores non-traditional methods combining virtual reality with 3D modeling. The symbols and soft motion convey a sense of expanding time in a digital age. With the feature now sunsetted, the work echoes the themes of a slow drift, underscoring the fleeting nature of certain digital platform features.
